As a student-run club team, we rely on the generosity of our supporters. Equipment frequently needs repair due to daily use, but we cannot afford to replace and update as needed due to other immediate costs. As a supporter of NU Crew, you can make a difference by donating towards a specific piece of equipment, and you will be updated as your donations make acquisition possible.
Donations help fund the purchase of new equipment including items listed below.

COX BOXES
Price: ~$550
Cox boxes are essential to every boat, every race, and every practice. With our growing numbers, we’re sending out more boats every day. New cox boxes will ensure that all boats have access to functional, reliable cox boxes.
NEW OARS
Price: ~$300/Oar
Oars are the instrument that makes a boat goes fast. With new oars, every rower can be sure that their hard work is being maximized with every stroke.
Donations of $500 or more towards oars that can be considered scholarships.
BOATS
Price: ~$14,000-$30,000
Our boats are used day in and day out to lead our team to success. New boats provide our team with both maximum safety and speed while on the water.
SPEEDCOACH
Price: ~$400
SpeedCoaches provide information on how quickly the boat is moving. These GPS-based devices give 500 meter splits, stroke rates, stroke counts, meters traveled, and much more! The data SpeedCoaches provide help coaches, coxswains, and rowers make each boat go faster!
NEED-BASED SCHOLARSHIP
As a part of our diversity and inclusion efforts, we are excited to announce the establishment of NU Crew’s need-based scholarship. The scholarship will act as a fund through which members can apply and receive club-related financial support as needed.
During regular seasons, varsity members pay over $1,000 in dues each school year. These dues can present added challenges and prevent some students from joining the team. The goal of this scholarship is to decrease financial barriers presented in rowing, particularly for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and First-Generation, Low-Income (FGLI) teammates, though anyone is welcome to apply. We hope, with your support, to be able to support all of our teammates’ needs and create a more inclusive, diverse NU Crew.
