Seasonal Dues and Financial Aid
Rowing is an expensive sport. We try to keep our team dues as low as possible, but they must pay for our coaching, travel, racing, equipment, and more. Please reach out to our recruitment chairs or treasurer for more specific information on dues. The deadline for winter dues is to be determined, but it will allow for some time to try out the sport without the pressure of paying dues.
Our goal is for everybody who wants to row to be able to row, regardless of financial situation. Therefore, there are multiple outlets to reduce the cost of dues. The school has a Student Activities Assistance Fund (SAAF) which can provide up to $700/year towards dues (based on need). You can apply every quarter, but note that no more than $700 may be allocated to an individual annually. If you qualify for SAAF, the team also provides additional scholarship based on the amount you received from SAAF. Our scholarship lowers remaining dues based on the percentage of available SAAF funding offered. For example, if SAAF offers 80% of the $700 they can allot, we will cover 80% of remaining dues.
Don’t hesitate to reach out if dues are proving to be a hindrance to your ability to be on the team. Our treasurer is available to discuss your individual financial situations and make crew work for you.
